Offshore Unlimited has launched its new Incat Crowther Designed 35m offshore Support Catamaran at the Richardson Devine Marine yard in Hobart, Outer Limit.
The vessel is able to carry 125t of deadweight, with capacity for up to 50 passengers on day operations and 32 berths for overnight operations. Work spaces abound, with desks in every cabin and an upper deck workspace with
14 seats. This workspace is fitted with direct wireways to the aft deck to allow for quick installation and configuration of deck mounted equipment, whilst an adjacent bathroom improves functionality.
Two large cabins on the upper deck feature half height glass bulkheads with blinds to allow interaction between the workspace and the helm. The vessel is equipped with the latest communications equipment from Thrane & Thrane including the new VSat900 terminal, Fleet Broadband 250 terminal and a Sat90 Satellite TV aerial.
The main deck cabin will house a wet room with lockers and bathroom, lounge, galley, mess, medical room and 6 cabins. A pair of these cabins will be able to be joined by retracting a dividing wall, creating larger cabins when the vessel is not at its full capacity. The vessel's hulls house a further 6 cabins, 4 of which also feature a sliding joining partition. In addition to these cabins, the hulls house refrigerator and freezer rooms, service and storage spaces. The aft working deck features over 160 square metres of work space - enough to accommodate four 20 foot containers. Deck equipment includes a Heila HLM 35-4S 12 tonne deck with wireless remote controls, moon pool, a 4 point mooring system and mounts for a removable luffing A-Frame with a 20 tonne capacity.
The vessel is powered by a pair of Caterpillar C32 ACERT main engines, each producing 1655hp. Propulsion will be by a pair of five-bladed propellers.
Service speed is 20 knots and range 1800nm. Auxilary power is supplied by a pair of Caterpillar C9 256 Kva Generator sets, Manoeuvring and station keeping is enhanced by a Kongsberg C-Joy DP0 positioning system and a pair of Westmar bow thrusters.
The new vessel is easily configured for multiple roles, including survey, construction support, crew and stores transfers.
Sea trials will begin in the next couple of weeks with delivery from the yard expected around end of February.
